I have three, but I should really have at least four or five. See my post above about them :) They take temps from ~77-84, and are often kept with angelfish, discus, or geos as they like similar conditions. And yes, their faces are one of my favorite parts about them! They have a beautiful head profile.

So I'm realizing this thread should probably be in the Tank Showcase subforum... this one is probably a bit too specific, not all my tanks are medium light or carefully aquascaped. Any chance a mod could move it?

A phone full of blurry high-speed photos later, this is what my flashing rainbow gave me:

Got some new plants tonight! So I did a little rearranging. I'm hoping this lloydiella will fill in and hide that water pump. I'm tired of looking at it.

A few fish photo bombs of my plant pic :) Look, Baby Groot on the back wall, even! I finally understand why people like plecos.

    Oops, they did it again!

They always spawn in this same spot. They seem to like the willow hygro around them. This time they used one of the sword leaves, still attached to the plant!

Also, the moonlights do crazy things to their colors! Lewis last night:

So I went to a lfs today.... fishtown up in Ramsey (right at the top of 17).... they breed geos!!!!! Saw a bunch of adorable fry and had to ask about them, thought of you immediately! Nice plant selection as well (like 8+ large tanks of nice plants)

Hey I've been wanting to check them out! Nice plants are hard to find around here. And the geos... I think I'm slowly caving. Particularly as life has put a salt tank on hold indefinitely. Once I get my juvie swordtails traded in, I'm going to start saving for either another rainbow school, or a group of geos.

I'm definitely going to have to make it up to Fishtown now! :D

I made it out to my first aquarium society meeting today. Somehow in the excitement of the auction, I ended up with a bag of fish at my feet. I wonder how that happened?? These places are dangerous!

So my new Aequidens patricki are settling in to my 55 now. They are certainly shy at the moment! I hope they do well for me! I'm hoping for a pair out of these five. One of them, hiding under a plant:

Me too! I have a definite weakness for acaras. I've been admiring Aequidens metae and diadema for quite awhile, and these reminded me of them. They already show a bit of blue on their gill plates covers that I'm hoping will get more pronounced. Pics online also show metallic scales edged in black. Really beautiful.
