Is D39 also known as Alto Vuapes 1? Because I think my friend has some... I need to see.

And D10 is the other mouthbrooder right? How many are there? 4 right?

I am needing some clarification here. I find articles saying Keleri, barlowi, megastoma, and D39 are mouth brooders and little argument against. And then I find an article says they are all the same fish. Can someone turn on the light I am lost in the tunnel in the dark.

I also read in here the other day about apistogramma being hard on corys. My experience has been that they are hard on the larger cory species not the smaller ones. The only species I have kept that was truly rough on corys was nannocara anomala. When they get ready to breed they start killing coys that get within a certain distance of nest site.

The first thing you say is correct, the second is not, barlowi and megastoma are not the same species. You could say that they belong to the same group Because they share the same morphology and appearance and customs in the care of fry, the D39 is not in this category is true that behaves like the barlowi or megastoma but are of the same group, A comparative example would be to say that the cacatuoides, allpahuayo, huascar, rocafuerte, atahualpa, personata all of them also belong to the same group.

THEY ARE NOT SAYING SAME GROUP, THEY ARE SAYING ALL ONE SPECIES. AND NO-ONE WRITING SEEMS TO HAVE A CLUE. I would just like a complete list of mouthbrooding apistogrammas and my normal research avenues have not yet been updated.

Could you put the source of your research? Or who is the specialist who talks about them.

I usually utilize Fishbase for base research but they are not up to date on apistogramma. I type in species name on search bar and read articles, some of which were written by self important morons, and some that are just plain confused. I have been able to ascertain little fact from most of the articles and some are so vague you know the writer has no first hand experience.

Web misinformation is why I've started to dread online research. I would prefer to figure out the details myself and provide reputable information like I'm trying to do with my Purple Matano Crabs. :cautious:
