If I go that way I will be sure to. Thanks for the link.
I'm interested to see how the vibrant works for you. Hopefully it does well, anything that can kill off algae but not fish or inverts is a good product in my book! I haven't tried any algae products yet, so hearing experiences helps out a lot
I finally was able to fill up some RO water. TDS came out looking like 9-12. Not the best but not super high either.
The next dosing of Vibrant is tomorrow. Also, my CUC came and I'm very satisfied. John does a good job with what he does.
I also added a surface skimmer to this tank because there was this fine coating of little white things on the surface and the skimmer took that all out under 5 minutes. It's a cool add on for the tank.
I'm going to be doing a PWC tonight. I'm pretty sure this algae is just a PO4 problem.
I am probably going to start vodka dosing soon as well.
RO Water coming out should read 0, and I'd change the membrane and DI when it gets over 2. 9 is totally unaccepable
@Reefing Madness I believe Steven told me that you vodka dose, correct?
Yes, I dose Vodka for Nitrate control.
I've heard the same results can be achieved with vinegar dosing for our under age members reefing??
I added a lawn mower blenny to the tank today, acclimated him for a couple Horus and he's just out exploring the tank right now.
It's not a problem really, I had a talk with my parents already.
So for unknown reasons the blenny died on Friday. Tested my water, no traces of ammonia, nitrites and only nitrates showing up. Everything else is doing fine.
Algae is starting to clear up, I did another PWC today. My RO water is showing 0 now on the TDS meter.
Continuing to dose Vibrant, it seems to be helping along with using RO water.
Sorry to hear about the blenny Had it shown any unusual behavior before Friday?
Nope, that's the weird part. Was even eating and starting to come out.
